6-8 Elementary Report

The Spring season at Carrabec Community School is always the busiest time of the year. With this in mind, I would like to remind you to follow our school event calendar for dates and times for student activities.

Teacher appreciation was held at CCS during the first week of May. On May 3rd the PTO held a staff appreciation luncheon for our staff.  Congratulations to all of our staff for their dedication and hard work throughout the year! 

As part of our MELMAC grant our 6th graders visited the University of Maine at Augusta on May 4th. This trip was organized by Mr. Dave Ela as a way to get students to start thinking about attending colleges after high school graduation.

The annual Spring Dance will be held on Friday June 2nd at 6:30. This is a semi-formal event that is attended by many of our students. On June 20th our 8th graders will have their promotion ceremony at 6pmJune 21st will be our students' last day of school. This will be an early dismissal day for our students with an honor roll assembly at 10am for 6th and 7th graders.

Our spring sports season has been going strong for the past month. Our track, baseball and softball teams have had some excellent performances during this season so far. Congratulations to all of our spring athletes for their dedication to our school.

There will be a Spring District Concert on June 15th led by Mr. Gilbert.  On May 23rd Mr. Reichenbach held his annual art exhibit. The art was a great example of the work our students do in their classes.
