GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

EARLY GRADUATION

Alternative graduation possibilities at Carrabec High School are:

1.) Graduation in three (3) years

2.) Graduation in absentia

A.) Foreign exchange studies

B.) College in lieu of senior year

C.) Military service

D.) Full-time employment

Recommended guidelines:

1.) The student must present a letter of intent to Guidance Director by April 1st of the student's sophomore year, if possible.

2.) The parents or the legal guardian of the student must present a letter, which supports student's intent, to the Guidance Director. The parents or the legal guardian will be requested to meet with school officials to discuss the options which are available to the student.

3.) The Guidance Director then refers the letter of intent to the Carrabec High School Principal for approval.

4.) If the letter of intent is approved by the Principal, a recommendation for approval is made to the Board of Directors. Such motion would be made following the first ranking quarter of the student's junior year.

5.) After Board approval, the student will participate in school activities as a member of the junior class until the first semester ends.

6.) After evaluation and approval by the school administration and Guidance Director at mid-year of grade 11, the student will follow the same procedures and regulations relating to graduation activities as other seniors.

7.) Any District student who successfully passes the required number of graduation credits, including the satisfactory completion of both state and local requirements, will be awarded a Carrabec High School diploma.
