  1. All dances at Carrabec High School are restricted to Carrabec students and their dates or invited guests. Guests must be at least in the ninth grade and no older than 20 years of age. Any guest older than 20 years old must have administrative approval before attending the dance.

  2. All dances at the secondary level must be supervised by at least four chaperons (at least two must be faculty members).

  3. Individual school dances at the elementary level must be supervised by four chaperones, one of which must be a teacher or Principal.

  4. District dances at the elementary level are restricted to grades 6-8.

  5. The doors close at 8:00 pm at the elementary level and 9:00 p.m. at the secondary level. No student will be admitted after that time unless prior approval has been obtained.

  6. All regular dances will close no later than 11:00 p.m. for secondary and 10:00 p.m. for elementary.

  7. Anyone who leaves the dance will not be permitted to re-enter.

  8. Dates or invited guests may be from outside the District and must have office approval before 2:00 p.m. on the day of the dance.

  9. Each student is restricted to one (1) invited guest and is responsible for that person.

  10. If an acceptable sound level, as determined by the Administrator in charge, is not maintained after a second warning, the dance may be terminated and the band or disk jockey will be discharged and paid.

  11. Dances may be held on Friday and Saturday nights, or on evenings just prior to a non-school day.

  12. People violating the smoking, drug and/or alcohol policy will be evicted from the premises and dealt with by district policy.

  13. Every event must be cleared through the Principal at the elementary level and the Student Council and the Principal at the secondary level, two (2) weeks prior to the event when possible.

  14. Each school will develop a list of chaperon responsibilities. Each non-school chaperon will receive a copy of the dance regulations and responsibilities prior to the event.

  15. All non-school chaperons must be 21 years of age or older and approved by the Building Principal.

  16. Any student absent on the day of a dance will not be allowed to attend the dance. Any exceptions to this policy must be approved by the administration.

  17. A student currently serving a suspension or who has not yet fulfilled all the conditions of a disciplinary action by the date of a dance will not be allowed to attend a school dance.

  18. District dress codes will be followed as outlined in the Student Handbook.
