Thank you for overseeing Carrabec athletics and providing opportunities for our students to learn routine, discipline, and cooperation through sports. Additional thanks to Mr. Campbell, Mr. Dostie, Mr. Roux, and Mr. Dunlap for all of the assistance and support they have given.

High School Sports

Our student athletes and coaches are conditioning and drilling their way through preseason. CHS soccer will host opening day vs. Greenville on September 3rd, followed by cross country’s first race at Madison on September 4th. Fall coaches attended NFHS training, rules interpretation clinics, and CPR/First Aid/AED training. During our preseason coaches’ meeting, coaches discussed and reviewed materials including:

● MPA Bulletins, MPA Coaches’ Handbook, Carrabec Coaches’ Handbook

● NFHS and Sports Medicine Advisory Committee (SMAC) Heat Acclimatization Prevention Statement

● NFHS and SMAC Hydration Recommendations Statement

Parents and student athletes met with fall coaches on August 16. Groups met by sport and coaches explained their goals to parents and players. Coaches shared materials including:

Middle School Sports

Signups for middle school sports opened today. Detailed information regarding middle school rosters will be available soon.

Points of Interest:

● Madison Junior High School has asked if six seventh grade boys could join the CCS boys team, with Madison parents transporting the six boys to CCS for practices and games.

● Under the current co-op agreement with Madison football, RSU #74 is required to transport students to Madison daily for practices and games. The only available vehicle for this transportation is a full-sized bus.

Middle School Golf

Last year, we reinstated a golf team at CCS, and traveled to Bath and Northport for matches. This year our golf coach is working to coordinate home matches at Diadema for our CCS golfers. More information to come!
