Winter Spirit Week Recap
The week of March 24th marked the beginning of Winter Spirit Week at Carrabec High School. This event provided students and staff an opportunity to showcase their school spirit and creativity through a variety of themed dress-up days:
Monday: Cookout Dad or Soccer Mom
Tuesday: Iconic Duos or Group Costumes Day
Wednesday: Monochromatic Day (wear only one color)
Thursday: Rhyme Without Reason Day
Friday: Tacky Tourist Day
The enthusiasm and participation from students and staff made this Spirit Week a fun and engaging experience for all.
Spirit Week Activities – March 28th
To conclude Winter Spirit Week, a variety of activities were organized on Friday, March 28th, allowing students to participate in interactive and enjoyable events, including:
Outdoor Fat Bike Ride
Chess
Bingo
Just Dance / Competition
Cornhole
Cookie Decorating
Knockout (Basketball)
24 Game (Math)
Rock, Paper, Scissors Hula Hoop Game
Geoguessr
Mario Kart
These activities provided students with a range of options to engage in competitive, creative, and interactive experiences. The day was a great success, fostering a sense of community and school pride.
Spring Sports Update
As we transition into the spring season, our athletic programs are preparing for the upcoming competitions. Baseball, softball, and track & field practices have commenced, with student-athletes eager to build on their skills and represent Carrabec in upcoming meets and games. We are excited to see the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes come to fruition as the season progresses. I would like to take a moment to thank Chris Roux and his staff for all the work they do to ensure a smooth transition between seasons!
Performing Arts and Music Update
The CHS Music Ensembles are preparing for their spring concert, which will be held during CHS Arts Night on May 28th. The event will begin at 6:00 PM, and the concert will begin at 6:30 PM.
The Performing Arts group is working on preparing an Evening of Student-Written One Acts to be held as a Dinner Theater on May 23. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Tickets include both a spaghetti dinner and admission for two shows. Dinner will begin at 5:30 PM, and the first show will start at 6:15 PM followed by a brief dessert intermission and a second show.
Academic Achievement – Math Team Victory
Our math team was victorious in the East West Conference end-of-year meet, continuing a four-year Conference Championship run. This outstanding achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and coach.
Conclusion
Winter Spirit Week was a fantastic way to engage students and staff while transitioning from winter to spring. I want to thank everyone who participated and helped organize these events. As we move forward, I look forward to supporting our spring sports teams and continuing to provide meaningful co-curricular opportunities for our students.
