As winter sports close in on the end of regular season play, teams look ahead and prepare for playoffs! Nominations for all-star teams and sportsmanship award voting is underway. Our Carrabec student athletes have represented themselves and our community very well this season and deserve post-season recognition and awards. High school music students are readying for the KV Festival and practicing arrangements to accompany our teams at the Civic Center. CCS music students are eager to perform at their winter concert on February 3rd. On February 4, CCS is scheduled to host a middle school basketball game to accommodate traveling challenges for Forrest Hills and Rangeley, pending receipt of RSU#74 insurance coverage for this date.

Games originally scheduled for January 26 have been postponed to February 4. These games are the last home games of the season and the recreation department is coordinating events to celebrate our seniors and their families.

A virtual meeting was held with the Electronic Gaming Foundation to explore the possibility of introducing esports as an extracurricular activity for Carrabec students. More information to come!

Performing Arts

Save the date for our CCS winter chorus and band concert on Tuesday, February 3rd! Music students are preparing for the KV Festival on January 30th and 31st and our theater students are gearing up for the One Acts competition on March 6th & 7th. Depending on final basketball tournament standings, our CHS band may have opportunities to perform at the Augusta Civic Center in February. Special thanks to Alexis Fortin, Carrabec High School senior, who has beautifully performed the National Anthem at our home games!
