Re: Athletic Director’s October Report

Fall sports are in full swing.

The girls’ soccer team currently has a record of five wins, two losses, and one tie. This is a huge improvement record wise from last year. The team as of September 27th finds themselves in 4th place in the MPA Heal point standings. It is looking like our girls’ team will qualify for the tournament for the first time in three years.

The boys’ soccer team is currently undefeated at 8-0 and in first place in the MPA Heal Point standings. The boys will be making the tournament for the first time in five years. Both teams have some very important games on the horizon:

September 28th #1 Carrabec (Boys) @ #2 Greenville 4:00

  #4 Carrabec (Girls) vs #3 Madison 4:00

October 13th is Homecoming as both teams host Temple Academy. Girls play first at 5:30 with the boys’ game to follow. The complete schedule can be found at the school’s website https://chs.carrabec.org/

Mark your calendars for potential playoff dates:

October 24th - Girls’ Quarterfinals

October 25th - Boys Quarterfinals

October 27th - Boys & Girls’ Semifinals

October 31st - Boys and Girls’ Regional Finals @ Biddeford High School

The CHS Cross Country team is doing very well. The girls’ unfortunately still only have one participant but the boys’ team has increased to five. They also have some important dates on the horizon:

October 11th East West Conference Championship @ Thomas College

October 14th MVC Championship @ UMA

October 21st Regionals @ Cumberland

October 28th States @ Belfast

We do not officially have a golf team at Carrabec but based on our club participation we will most likely be able to field a team next year. We have six high school boys that join me at Diadema once a week. I would like to invite any board members to join us on a golf outing. If you are interested please contact me.

The middle school has much better numbers than we expected this year. The boys have 15 players and the girls have 12 players. Both teams travel to Temple Academy tonight (coed) for a 4:00 game and both teams host Rangeley on Thursday. Girls’ game will start at 4:00 with the boys to follow. Our middle school athletes will also be participating in Homecoming this year at the high school. The boys and girls will host Temple Academy playing one coed game at 4:00.

The Carrabec/Madison high school football team has their Homecoming game on October 13th vs Old Town. Kick off is at 7:00.

The Carrabec/Madison junior high football team is off to a great start this season winning their first two games beating Skowhegan and Lawrence. They play at Gardiner on the 27th of September and home against Messalonskee on the 4th of October.

Thanks,
