Minutes of the Emergency Board Meeting

of

RSU #74 Board of Directors

Wednesday, May 11, 2017

6:00 p.m.

At Carrabec High School

Bobbi Sue Harrington, Chair, called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m.

Directors Present: Robert Demchak, Troy Dunphy, Tammy Murray, G, Wayne Rugh, Dulcie Welch, Patrick Daubenberger, Bobbi Sue Harrington, Heather Hilenski, Kathy Bertinti, and Laura Layman

Directors absent with notification: Deron Whittemore, Kevin Sousa, and Dwight Barron

Directors Absent without notification: Annette Folco and Dana Beaulieu.

Staff Members Present: 14

Students Present: 0

Citizens Present: 0

Agenda Item #1 BUDGET REVIEW

Upon motion by Tammy Murray and seconded by Patrick Daubenberger the Board voted by unanimous consent to reduce the health insurance line by a savings of $25,000.

Upon motion by Tammy Murray and seconded by Bobbi Sue Harrington motion was made to reduce the Special Education Director line by $40,000.

Motion was withdrawn by Tammy Murray and Bobbi Sue Harrington.

Upon motion by Tammy Murray and seconded by Bobbi Sue Harrington the Board voted to cut $40,000 out of RSU #74’s Administration. Motion failed 4-6.

Upon motion by Patrick Daubenberger and seconded by Robert Demchak the Board voted to reduce the MDI program by $20,000 and create a $5,000 account for middle school musical at CCS. Motion failed 2-8.

Upon motion by Robert Demchak and seconded by Tammy Murray the Board voted 8-2 to approve submitting the RSU #74 School Budget as is with the $25,000 savings adjustment in Health Insurance.
