JOB TITLE: Adult Education Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Certified as an Adult Education Director and successful experience as a leader/manager. Demonstrated ability to deal successfully with adults and a knowledge of budgetary management. Bachelor degree in education. Familiarity with the business community and vocational education.
JOB DUTIES:
1.) Select course offerings responding to the District's needs.
2.) Prepare news releases and arrange for publication and distribution of program brochure.
3.) Develop public relations program.
4.) Prepare and supervise recruitment activities.
5.) Maintain accurate records of course offerings, enrollment, and attendance.
6.) Prepare all state report forms.
7.) Prepare annual budget and budget report for submission to Superintendent.
8.) Maintain expenditures within approved budget.
9.) Authorize staff stipends.
10.) Prepare and supervise staff development programs.
11.) Maintain an active RSU #74 advisory council.
12.) Attend state and regional adult education meeting.
13.) Participate in the regional Adult Education network.
14.) Arrange for use of facilities for course offerings.
15.) Establish schedules.
16.) Provide for supervision at all evening school sessions.
17.) Determine when classes will be postponed due to inclement weather.
18.) Provide counseling and referral services to high school completion and vocational students.
19.) Responsible for GED program.
20.) Responsible for adult graduations.
21.) Work cooperatives with other agencies and programs concerned with adult education.
22.) Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent.
LINE OF AUTHORITY: Responsible for adult education staff and responsible directly to the Superintendent
SALARY: Established annually by the Board of Directors
FRINGE: Established annually by the Board of Directors
WORK YEAR: 52 week contract for RSU #74 as scheduled by the Superintendent
