Director of Maintenance Board Report

Good Evening,

Facilities:

I wanted to give an update on summer projects for our facilities. The following items are listed:

·       LED Lighting Conversion in the High School is Completed.

·       LED Lighting Conversion at the Community School is Completed.

·       LED Lighting Conversion in Solon will start after the start of school. This will take

   place during the overnights.

·       Ceiling Tile Replacement in Solon and Garrett Schools are 75% Completed. We will

start to remove tiles surrounding vents, cameras, and sprinkler systems to cut and fit   them.

  ·       Garrett, rework and structure of classrooms is completed. This project pulled a lot of

resources over this summer due to packing classrooms, repairing walls, relocating shelving, Promethean boards, furniture, etc. The team did an amazing job completing this project just in time for the start of school.

·       Staff bathroom on the 3rd floor is almost complete. Due to old plumbing and the cast

   iron pipe, the sink is currently still out of order requiring further inspections and repairs.

·       There was a large amount of repairs to walls and painting that had taken place through

the district. The team has done an amazing job in working these projects in while working around the lighting installations.

At the start of the summer we had a maintenance staff member that has taken a job elsewhere. We have closed the hiring process and are looking forward to having this new member join the team. We look forward to the new year and what projects we can accomplish to continue to improve the grounds here at RSU#74.  

I applaud my team for their hard work over this summer break as it was probably the hottest one so far. Thank you to all.
