DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION BOARD REPORT

The new Thomas bus has been outfitted with new cameras and a radio. It now is on the road covering one of the routes in New Portland.

All of our buses have been updated with the new crossing arm kits, and we are preparing the reimbursement paperwork for submission to the state.  Unfortunately, we have had two return- springs break and O’Connor’s is sending replacements under warranty.

A van has been selected for possible lease/purchase.  It is a 2026 Chrysler Voyager, white in color and currently has 20 miles. The selling price plus fees totals an estimated $39,903. If approved for a 5-year lease the first payment would be an estimated $8,826.03 with the remainder to be paid July 2027.  A decision was made to keep our 2 best 12 passenger vans, 1 for bus garage mechanics and 1 for Buildings and Grounds.  I believed the value for us to continue to use them outweighed the trade in value. The third 12 passenger van is up for bid.

Also, we have 2 additional sealed bid items, the 2009 school bus and an old trailer.
