SCHOOL CALENDAR

The RSU #74 Board will annually adopt a school calendar. As required by law, the school year shall consist of at least 182 days a year. At least 175 days shall be used for instruction. In meeting the requirements of a 182-day school year, no more than seven (7) days may be used for in-service education of teachers, administrative meetings, parent-teacher conferences, “records” days, and similar activities.

The calendar will be developed in coordination with the CTE region or center providing CTE instruction to RSU #74 students to achieve alignment of calendars within statue.

To promote continuity of instruction and achieve consistency in scheduling, late-start and/or early release days for in-service activities and parent-teacher conferences should be kept to a minimum.

The RSU #74 Board will approve the school calendar for ensuing school year prior to June 30 of the current school year. The Superintendent will be responsible for publicizing the school calendar through the District’s website.
